Tour du Mont Blanc
The Tour du Mont Blanc or TMB is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. It circles the Mont Blanc massif, covering a distance of roughly 165 kilometre with 10 kilometres of ascent/descent and passing through parts of Switzerland, Italy and France. It is considered one of the classic long-distance hiking trails. The circular route is normally walked in a counter-clockwise direction in 9-14 days.
We did a self-guided 8-day hike with easier trails planned by Alvin and Brian, both of whom had done the classic TMB route before. We had 9 members in this hiking trip.
After the hike, we extended our stay for 5 days to experience the Glacier Express train journey from St Moritz to Zermatt. Some of the other members extended their stays in Como and Munich.
This trip was one-of-a-lifetime experience. Thanks to our trekkie friends, Alvin and Brian, for all the meticulous planning work.
