Since retiring from the corporate world, I have been actively involved in volunteering with various organizations such as the Singapore International Foundation (SIF), Singapore Red Cross, and my neighbourhood committee. One of the programmes I've been part of is Water for Life (WFL), which aims to provide rural communities with access to clean drinking water and improve their health and hygiene practices. Additionally, I've been serving as a mentor in the Young Social Entrepreneurs Programme (YSE) since 2016.
Volunteering has been a way for me to give back to communities, uplift the lives of the disadvantaged, and connect with people outside my usual circles. It gives me a sense of fulfillment by contributing to making the world a better place. In addition to my involvement with the SIF and Singapore Red Cross, I have also been volunteering in my neighborhood community.
The Water for Life (WFL) program, initiated by the Singapore International Foundation (SIF), is focused on providing rural communities with access to drinking water through the implementation of clean water technology, and it aims to enhance their quality of life through improved health and hygiene practices. My involvement with the WFL program started in 2013.
The Young Social Entrepreneurs Programme (YSE) Global is a six-month program that inspires, equips, and enables youth of different nationalities to start or scale up their social enterprises in Singapore and beyond. I have been mentoring in this program since 2016.
